Unusual Interactants in a Smart Home Maintenance Participation Framework – Saul Albert

This paper contributes to research on the role of technology in ‘atypical’ interactions by examining situations in which technology takes on the stigma of atypicality. Based on our analysis, we argue that this approach provides a model for assistive technology research and development that moves away from techno-medical models and focuses on how typicality (and atypicality) is achieved interactionally.
