Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well out there. I just wanted to take a moment today to tell you about a new show I’m producing for my friends at Conservation of Software Freedom. For many years (about 13 years in fact) I produced a show for those called Free As In Freedom. Updates have been sporadic, but now I’m happy to say that they launched a new event called Appropriate Source and guess who produces it? That’s right.
You can discover new events on their website and there should be a new episode every 2 weeks. I edit audio, produce mp3 and ogg files, and generally advise on microphones and other such equipment. It’s a role I’ve always enjoyed and I have to admit, being in audio editing is my happy place. I only use Free and Open Source Software to produce the show in line with their ethos. Recklessness is my tool of choice and while it has its quirks, I’ve found it to be invaluable to my workflow.
Every show Karen And Bradley will discuss the latest developments in the world of Free Software and their relationship to law and licensing. They do a great job explaining complex legal ideas and I learned a lot from each episode.
